Join the Exciting Movement That’s Impacting Shaver Lake

Trophy sized Rainbow Trout are delivered to and planted in Shaver Lake to enhance the fishing experience of anglers visiting our local region. Imagine a chance to hook into three pound or larger fish during your visit!

It is through the generosity of donors that this program works. Join us in helping to bring more trophy trout to Shaver Lake in the coming years.
The Shaver Lake Trophy Trout group provides funds each year in support of the Trout in a Classroom program. This is an environmental education program designed for kids in grades k-12.

Currently Pine Ridge Elementary and Big Creek Elementary are the schools in which the organization is involved. We are looking for other regional schools to support in the future.
The main fundraising drive for the group is the annual Sportsmen’s Dinner. This year it is set for August 12. Attendees are treated to an open bar, delicious barbecue steak dinner with all the trimmings, raffle prizes and a silent auction.

The event traditionally sells out, so be sure to check back here soon to see when they go on sale. It you have any questions, please call (559) 841-3350.
Dick Nichols and Captain Jack Yandell, two of the founders of the Shaver Lake Trophy Trout group, are active in presenting trout fishing seminars. These events are typically held at Herb Bauer’s Sporting Goods.

The date and time will be available here on the website or you can sign up for our Quarterly Newsletter that will be emailed to all those interested in activities of the organization.
Each year the group support a variety of regional community activities. Members have worked to help Boy Scouts earn merit badges in fishing. We are the main sponsor of the annual Youth Fishing Derby at Shaver Lake.

Additionally we treat underprivileged and/or special needs kids to a day of fishing on the lake. Your generous donations will help us continue these activities.
